An Introduction
“Raggedy” Ruth Grihalva
creates her fully illustrated, color patterns with a step by step approach that will provide a novice quilter
with success and new ideas and techniques to the intermediate to professional quilter. As quilting is more
than an art, you’ll find her “bed size” quilt patterns never come in just one size as sizes twin to king
are included.
Intriguing games and illusions are often
incorporated into her patterns. These range from the use and placement of colors to achieve the unexpected to building on
a single block to attain different looks.
Ruth’s patterns are detailed and easy to follow. One reason is that she often is introducing new,
more efficient ways deal with the familiar, such as half square triangles. Also, unlike pattern designers who are also marketing
a fabric lines, her cutting charts and directions make the most out of the fabric you buy. In addition, may a quilter has
had problems in their projects that are solved using Ruth’s techniques.
